We have an impressive track record in:

Strengthening Skilled Birth Attendance (SBA) –

• reviewing and developing teaching and training curricula.
• assessing capacity of countries to scale up SBA coverage.
• evaluation of interventions that aim to increase coverage.

Strengthening capacity for delivering Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EOC&NC)

• design of programmes to ensure coverage meets UN guidelines
• identification of barriers to provision of the key signal functions and evaluation of
  interventions to address these, including a new competency based training
  package for EOC and early newborn care.
• Introducing quality improvement (QI) processes to improve the quality of
  MNH care - including formation, training and guidance of QI teams
• strengthening supportive supervision, building capacity to conduct maternal
  and peri-natal death reviews,
• supporting the development of standards and criterion-based audits.
